The HUSTEP program will also be taking applications for the Spring Semester. Here is the link for the HUSTEP application form for Semester Abroad Course (Spring) 2018. The deadline for HUSTEP is October 31, 2017. Please follow the directions on the website. You will need the following password to open the application file.

Please be aware of the following differences between the FlexProgram and the HUSTEP program.

 

Students on the FlexProgram may take Japanese language classes, but do not receive credit for them. They receive a certificate of completion to take back to their home university and, if allowed, may apply for credit though their home university's credit system. This also affects their class load. Both HUSTEP and FlexProgram students are required to take 7 courses for their student visa. However, because Japanese language classes do not count as credited courses for FlexProgram students, they

have to take 7 courses in addition to their Japanese language courses thus increasing their class load. However, FlexProgram students may take classes in the Faculty of Letters if their Japanese proficiency is sufficient.

 

The other difference is application for the JASSO scholarship. At present, our Faculty does not hold any slots for our students to apply for the JASSO scholarship.
